An open cricket tournament, organised by Jakhar Trust as part of the ‘Nashon se Door, Khelon Ki Aur’ campaign, kicked off today at the Abha Square Stadium. The initiative aims to divert the youth from drugs by engaging them in sports.

The tournament was inaugurated by Mayor Vimal Thatai, who was joined by Trustees Gurbachan Singh Sran and Vijay Kataria. Director Anil Bishnoi and Councillor Puneet Arora Sonu were also present at the event.

The first match of the tournament saw Sohit XI take on Youngster XI. After winning the toss, Sohit XI chose to bat first, posting a total of 164 runs in 16 overs. In response, Youngster XI was dismissed for just 107 runs, handing Sohit XI a comfortable victory. Gurdit was named the man of the match.

Bishnoi said the winning team would receive a cash prize of Rs 51,000, while the runner-up would get Rs 31,000. He said the man of the series would also be awarded Rs 5,100. The commentary for the matches is being provided by Surendra Chanchal.
