Day after record seizure, one more nabbed with 6 kg heroin
Day after record seizure of 105 kg heroin from Baba Bakala by the Counter Intelligence wing of the Punjab Police, another drug peddler was nabbed with 6 kg of contraband.
Lovepreet Singh of Chakoke village in Kapurthala was arrested from Umranangal village near Baba Bakala. He had picked up the consignment from Hanumangarh in Rajasthan. The car in which he was commuting has also been impounded.
Earlier, the police had nabbed two persons Navjot Singh of Guru Tegh Bahadur Colony in Baba Bakala and Lovepreet Kumar of Kala Sanghian in Kapurthala with the consignment.
DGP Gaurav Yadav said Lovepreet Singh was to handover the narcotics to Navjot, who was arrested on Saturday night with 105 kg of heroin.
The DGP said Lovepreet Kumar was doing IELTS from Phagwara and was lured into drug peddling by Turkey-based Navpreet Singh, alias Nav Bhullar, who assured him of settling abroad. Lovepreet’s accomplice Navjot, who works as a photographer, had taken accommodation on rent at Baba Bakala on pretext of opening a coaching centre.
