Chandigarh, June 26

Days after hitting out at his own government and Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh for alleged delay in justice in the Faridkot sacrilege and police firing cases, senior party leader Navjot Singh Sidhu perhaps for the first time acknowledged that the new SIT in the Kotkapura police firing case was “inching towards justice”.

This signals a significant shift in his line of action amid the brainstorming by the party high command to end the crisis in the Punjab Congress and bring Amarinder and Sidhu on the same page.

While hitting out at former Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal, who is to be questioned by the SIT today, Sidhu tweeted: “Yrs (sic) since sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib Ji.. No Justice in 2 yrs of your rule.. No Justice in the following 4.5 yrs.. Today, New SIT inches closer to Justice for Punjab’s Soul & you cry of political interference… Political interference was that which delayed Justice by 6 yrs”.
