Sangrur: The Malerkotla DC on Thursday met Begum Munawwar-ul-Nisa, wife of last ruler Nawab Iftikhar Ali Khan, and enquired about her health. DC Amrit Kaur Gill had a detailed discussions with the Begum about the town for over an hour. “The DC interacted with the Begum and took feedback on accelerating development in the area,” said Mohd Mehmood, Begum’s private secretary. tns

Abohar: The police arrested four persons, who had allegedly burgled Shivpuri, the main cremation ground and shrine, near Indira Nagari here. A complaint was lodged by Shivpuri manager Shyam Sunder, naming Jagdeep Singh, Arjun Bhullar, Akashdeep Singh Sunny and Bunty Singh.
