The Delhi Police have arrested an alleged Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) in an Arms Act case.

According to the police, accused Karanbir (22), a resident of Amritsar, was arrested from Punjab’s Gurdaspur on Saturday.

He was also allegedly involved in a grenade attack on the Quila Lal Singh police station in Punjab’s Batala earlier this year, the police said.

His arrest came a week after another suspect, Akashdeep Singh, alias Bazz (22), was nabbed from Indore, Madhya Pradesh. He too is believed to be linked to the BKI.

The grenade attack had taken place in April. Some unidentified individuals had hurled a grenade at the police station.

Shortly after the incident, a social media post surfaced, allegedly uploaded by BKI operatives — Happy Passiya, Mannu Agwan, and Gopi Nawanshahria — claiming responsibility for the attack.

Sharing details, DCP (Special Cell) Amit Kaushik said Akashdeep was interrogated.

“On grilling, inputs were received from Akashdeep regarding Karanbir. Human sources and technical analysis led to the arrest of Karanbir from Gurdaspur on July 26,” said the DCP.

The police said Karanbir revealed that he was in contact with a person from Punjab, but based abroad and handling operations for the banned terrorist organisation.

“Karanbir also visited a west Asian country in 2024. He received money from his handler for executing the grenade attack. He also facilitated the stay of two persons, who had executed the attack, at his home. His brother Gursewak, who was also involved in the attack, has already been arrested,” the DCP said.
