Deportee goes ‘missing’ from home, cops bring him back
A day after her dreams came crashing down when her son was deported from the US, the mother of 40-year-old Davinderjit Singh was in for another shock. Her son went missing in the morning. However, the police located him and brought him back home in the evening.
A US deportee, Davinderjit had reached Landra village in Jalandhar last night. He was dropped by a patwari at 10 pm on Wednesday and went missing at 5 in the morning.
His mother Balbir Kaur said, “My son returned home last night and was very disturbed. At 5 am, he left on a bike without saying anything.”
The Phillaur administration and the police launched a manhunt for him. Apra DSP Sarwan Singh Bal said, “The youth was depressed. He had only gone to visit relatives. Since he didn’t tell his mother, they thought he had gone missing. Police teams are at his home and he is with them.”
Davinderjit’s father had passed away some years ago. The family had spent lakhs to send him abroad. They informed that Davinderjit had left his home for Dubai two months ago. Later, they came to know that he had reached US.
