Samyukt Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) convener Jagjit Singh Dallewal on Sunday claimed that he was detained by the police at his residence at Dallewal village in Faridkot district. The move, he said, came hours before his scheduled press conference regarding the ongoing dispute over the laying of a drain pipeline at Ghasokhana village in Bathinda district.

Condemning the state government, he went live on Facebook to give information in that regard. Dallewal further claimed that a number of farmers and leaders, including Kaka Singh Kotra, who were arrested over the issue, were on a fast in the jail for the past few days.
