Devotees seek train service to Jaisalmer temple
Fazilka February 9
Devotees have appealed to the Railways to start service between Ludhiana and Pokhran in Rajasthan via Fazilka to enable them to pay obeisance at Baba Ramdev Temple in Jaisalmer (Rajasthan).
Baba Ramdev Yatri Sangh (Punjab) has, in a letter to Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, pleaded that thousands of devotees from Punjab visited the temple of Baba Ramdev in Jaisalmer. Brij Mohan Jhamb, general secretary, Baba Ramdev Yatri Sangh (Punjab), said there was no direct link to Jaisalmer due to which the devotees had to board train from far off stations or had to go via road, which was an expensive and inconvenient way to reach the temple.
He said trains offered cheaper and comfortable service and the devotees, particularly the elderly. — OC
