Fatehgarh Sahib: The feud between the Deputy Commissioner and the ADC (D) proved to be a storm in a tea cup with the alleged tiff having been resolved and all misunderstandings cleared amicably with the intervention of Rural Development Minister Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa. Now both officials are on cordial terms and have been working like a team for the development of the district. They are working with renewed zeal for the redressal of public grievances and it is hoped that the district will progress under their stewardship.
More work for cops
Amritsar: The police are under pressure to spare more personnel to investigate the antecedents of applicants who seek to visit the historic Gurdwara Darbar Sahib at Kartarpur in Pakistan through corridor. Police officials say a number of personnel have already been deputed for this work. Retired Principal Kulwant Singh Ankhi says increase in the number of applicants was not expected due to mandatory possession of passport. He states the pilgrims have to shell out money to get a passport, besides paying Rs 1400 fee. Besides, the devotees visiting the gurdwara through the corridor will not be allowed to go anywhere else in Pakistan. So only a copy of Aadhaar card should be sufficient as it will also save the cops of extra work, he adds.
