A group of unidentified heavily armed men, claiming to be Taliban officials, entered the gurdwara forcefully and vandalised it on the pretext of conducting a search in the complex on Tuesday. They handcuffed the security guards of the gurdwara and damaged the CCTV cameras.
A 30-second video clip has also surfaced on social media, in which the armed persons with covered faces can be seen frisking the drawers of an almirah and displacing the gurdwara furniture.

The Sikh community in Afghanistan lodged a protest with the Taliban regime and demanded that the identity of those who vandalised Gurdwara Karte Parwan in Kabul be disclosed.
Meanwhile, the Taliban officials already denied of having any connection with the incident and the miscreants.

DSGMC president Manjinder Singh Sirsa said the incident had created panic among the Sikhs living in terror-stricken Afghanistan. “They have sought security for the safety of their families and religious places,” he said.
World Punjabi Organisation international president Vikramjit Singh Sahney appealed to Foreign Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to take up the matter at the United Nations to ensure protection of lives and well-being of remaining 180 Afghan Sikhs and Hindus in Kabul and get the arrangements made for their early evacuation.
SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur too condemned the incident and demanded the Centre to take concrete steps to ensure the protection of minorities in Afghanistan.
