The case will come up for hearing before the Additional District and Sessions Judge-3 on January 13.

Sources said Sandhu had contended that the FIR No. 33 registered against him by the State Crime Branch was erroneous.

On the complaint of Mohali resident Baljinder Singh, a real estate dealer, a case was registered against him by the State Crime Branch on October 15, 2024, for allegedly misusing his official position to gain monetary benefits in connection with disputed properties.

Ten days after the case was registered, Sandhu was placed under suspension on October 25, 2024, in an inquiry related to the alleged facilitation of a video interview of Lawrence Bishnoi. In March 2023, a news channel had aired two interviews of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
