Dist Cong chiefs’ list has Warring stamp

The All-India Congress Committee (AICC) has released the list of 27 of the total 29 District Congress Committee (DCC) presidents. The names of Mansa and Malerkotla DCC chiefs will be announced later.

A majority of those on the list owe allegiance of state Congress president Amrinder Raja Warring and CLP leader Partap Singh Bajwa. Of late, Warring’s critics had been gunning for him, seeking his replacement.

The list has been released following consensus among various groups. Most of the candidates, Rajbir Singh Bhullar (Tarn Taran), Ajay Kumar Manupur (Nawanshahr), Subhdeep Bittu (Muktsar), Saurabh Mandan (Amritsar, Urban), Sukhwinder Danny (Amritsar, Rural), Kamal Kishore (Mohali), Hari Singh Khai (Moga) and others owe allegiance to Warring.

The rival group led by former CM Charanjit Singh Channi, Bharat Bhushan Ashu, Pargat Singh and Khushaldeep Dhillon has not been able to get its candidates named.
