What do you want to say about the documentary released by BBC?

It is completely wrong to release a documentary without the family’s permission. We had requested them to wait until the court gives its verdict in the murder case. However, they interviewed some people who are nominated in the FIR. We had filed a petition in the court seeking a stay on the screening of the documentary. The matter is listed for hearing on Thursday.

Can you please name any of those nominated in the FIR and interviewed?

Yes, Kanwar. He has been named in the FIR, but he was still interviewed. Some of our acquaintances sent us his pictures from the documentary.

Some of Sidhu’s old friends have blamed Balkaur Singh for their differences with your son. Is that true?

Sidhu was an innocent boy, who never cared much about business calculations. When we first visited him in Canada, we discovered that some of his friends were making money by cheating him. We warned him, but he did not take it seriously. Later, when we visited him again, we had almost no money to return home, and that’s when he realised what was happening.

Gangster Goldy Brar, alleged mastermind of your son’s murder, has been interviewed. What’s your take?

We are running from pillar to post for justice, but the accused are giving interviews to the media, with the police still unable to nab them.

Are you satisfied with the security cover currently provided to your family?

Yes, we are satisfied with the security team. We have nearly 10 gunmen. Besides, the local police also deploy some personnel during any public event at our residence.

How are you still able to release songs in Sidhu Moosewala’s voice?

My son was a big fan of rapper Tupac Shakur, who was also shot dead at an early age. Sidhu used to say he wanted to live a life like Tupac, whose songs continued to be released posthumously. He too recorded a number of songs in advance. We have enough content in his voice.

How is Nikka Sidhu, little Shubhdeep?

With the grace of God, he is in ‘chardi kala’ (high spirits).
