After segregating non-tainted lecturers from the tainted ones in the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) recruitment scam, the Higher Education Department has initiated the process of appointing 48 lecturers.
After getting approval from Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh, the department has directed the DPI (Colleges) to issue appointment letters after verifying the eligibility criteria. Of the total 69 candidates who were under scanner in the PPSC case, the department has identified 48 candidates as non-tainted.
The start of the recruitment process will help the department to clear the roadblock in filling vacant posts of lecturer in 48 government colleges of the state.
Principal Secretary, Higher Education, Anurag Aggarwal said as per the affidavit filed in the High Court, only the non-tainted candidates were being given the appointment letters.
