DRI seizes 63 antlers of deer in Amritsar
The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), Zonal Unit, Ludhiana, has arrested four persons and seized antlers of deer, teeth of boar and mongoose hair brushes from them.
The DRI made the seizure in a joint operation with the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau and state Forest Department here.
According the DRI authorities, the operation led to the seizure of 63 deer antlers, 32.7 kg of teeth of wild boars and 126 brushes made of the mongoose hair.
The deer and mongoose are listed in the Schedule-I and wild boar is listed in the Schedule-II of the Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972, said DRI officials.
During the operation, the DRI arrested four persons who have been remanded in the judicial custody for 14 days. The accused were found in illegal possession of the seized items for monetary gains.
