Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee president Manjinder Singh Sirsa shared videos of his organisation distributing relief material in riot-hit areas of northeast Delhi.

Sirsa is an Akali leader and a former member of legislative assembly of Delhi. In a letter he wrote to the Delhi Government, he asked the dispensation to help with materials like food and drinking water.

“I am writing this letter to bring to your notice that ‘Gurdwara Management Committee, Guru Gobind Singh Bhawan, Gurdwara, Rakab Ganj Sahib, New Delhi’, is once again requesting to you please support us in the violence situation in North-East Delhi. As you are aware many lives were lost and people require help from us to fulfill their basic requirements. Therefore, it is requested to supply of relief materials like food, drinking water, etc. in the North-East District. Delhi,” the letter says.

This week’s deadly communal violence in northeast Delhi has killed over 35 people and wounded over 200.
