ED may give clean chit to Majithia in drugs case: AAP
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has raised concerns about the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) involvement in the drug case related to Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Majithia.
Senior AAP spokesperson Neel Garg alleged that the ED’s investigation is aimed at giving Majithia a clean chit due to his close ties with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several senior Bharatiya Janata Party’s leaders.
Though Majithia may expect some relief from the ED, the state government’s special investigation team (SIT) would continue its probe independently, said Garg, adding that the final challan would be presented as soon as the investigation concludes.
He said the gangsters, drug smugglers and corrupt individuals were being dealt with iron hand by the AAP government.
“The AAP government is committed to make Punjab a drug-free state. Anyone responsible for drug menace will face strict punishment. Nobody will be allowed to disturb law and order,” he added.
