Moga, January 11
Amid speculations of a rebellion by the sitting Congress MLA Dr Harjot Kamal after the induction of Malvika Sood, efforts have been initiated by the Congress leadership to keep the flock together.
Local leaders contacted many party members from the rural areas including sarpanches, panches and block samiti members, and brought them together at the new grain market in Moga city on Tuesday.
MLA Dr Harjot Kamal, while talking to The Tribune, claimed, “More than 70 per cent of the panches, sarpanches and block samiti members are with me.”
Meanwhile, senior Congress leader Dr Malti Thapar said it was just a matter of two-three days that all local leaders would toe the party line. —
