Elderly woman resists robbery attempt, killed
A woman (85) was killed at Chuhriwala Dhanna village by two men, who had barged into her house to commit a robbery on Thursday night. The duo murdered her when she raised the alarm.
The victim was identified as Kheti Bai. Senior police officials and dog squads reached the spot for investigation.
Ram Chand, victim’s eldest son, said the family members were sleeping in their respective rooms while his mother was in the verandah. Late in the night, some unidentified persons barged into their house and tried to rob his mother of her gold jewellery. When they came out from their rooms after hearing noise, their mother had already died and the accused fled.
Police station in-charge Balkar Singh said five other family members were present in the house at the time of the incident. The statements of the family members were being recorded, he said.
