The first truck carrying rations and essential supplies for the camps was flagged off by Mohan Lal Singla on Wednesday. Ashok Gupta, convener of the project, stated that volunteers, led by national leaders Mahant Swaroop Bihari Sharma and Dr. Desh Bandhu, will be organising these facilities from January 13 until the conclusion of the Maha Kumbh Mela on

February 5.

Mahant Sharma shared that hundreds of devotees from the Sabha and Dal’s various units in Punjab have already confirmed their participation. He further noted that uniformed volunteers would assist the Uttar Pradesh police in maintaining law and order during the fair, while the Sabha’s members will offer various services at the camps for pilgrims.

Sharma commended the long-standing tradition of social and religious organisations providing support during the Kumbh Mela, including camps and Bhandaras over the years. He also highlighted special arrangements for the care of elderly and

sick visitors.

“We have already registered a sufficient number of physician volunteers to offer medical services during the event. Additionally, a standby list of volunteers has been prepared for on-demand assistance,” said Sharma.

The Maha Kumbh Mela, one of the largest religious gatherings in the world, will begin on January 13 in

Prayagraj.

The event is expected to draw millions of devotees, including a significant number of NRIs from north India, particularly Punjab, eager to witness this grand display of faith, spirituality, and

cultural heritage.
