Charged with criminal conspiracy and extortion, Barjinder Singh, aka Makhan, 54, son of a former Punjab minister in the SAD government, was acquitted in the infamous Moga sex scandal as two key witnesses had turned hostile.

CBI prosecutor Anmol Narang said, “Prosecution witness councillor Inderjit Singh and Bharat Bhushan, husband of a councillor, turned hostile in the case.”

According to investigating officer Karmail Singh, Barjinder had allegedly demanded Rs 2 lakh from victims Inderjit Singh and Bharat Bhushan, but both prosecution witnesses falsified the allegation in the court.
