Sources said the deceased was known for his outspoken nature. “He often posted videos on social media criticising the AAP Government’s policies. He was also seen sharing stage with leaders like Simranjit Singh Mann and Lakha Sidhana, voicing concerns over issues related to Punjab, Punjabi identity and governance,” said sources.

Barnala SSP Mohd Sarfaraz Alam said, “We have got some leads against one Jinder Singh and are working on them. During the preliminary investigation, and as per some eyewitnesses, it has emerged that the accused and the victim, both in their forties, belonged to Sehna village, knew each other and had come together to the spot. It primarily seems to be a case of personal enmity. The teams are working and things will clear soon.”
