Faridkot administration sets up control rooms, urges public to follow blackout advisory

In view of ongoing national security concerns, the Faridkot district administration has set up dedicated control rooms to handle any crisis. Deputy Commissioner Poonamdeep Kaur informed that the district control room is active at the DC office (01639-250338), with additional numbers at DC Camp Office (01639-251000, 251024), and SSP Office control room (75270-17100).

The residents are urged to strictly follow blackout protocols — turn off all lights, cover security cameras, and ensure no light escapes from windows. Emergency lights should be used only in fully enclosed rooms with drawn curtains.

The DC emphasised that there is no need to panic, but urged everyone to remain alert, avoid rumours, and help others in emergencies. Response teams from all departments are on 24-hour standby. Public cooperation is vital for safety during this sensitive time.
