Faridkot shooting: Two injured as firing between two rival groups takes place
Tension gripped Faridkot city as a firing incident was reported this afternoon on Kotkapura Road, allegedly stemming from a clash between two rival groups.
According to initial reports, Gurleen Singh, associated with one group, was travelling by car when he was attacked by 10 to 15 individuals. The assailants reportedly vandalised his vehicle and also opened fire on him.
Sources indicate that Gurleen may have also fired back in self-defense, though the police have not yet confirmed this officially.
Following the incident, Faridkot police arrived at the scene and have begun scanning nearby CCTV footage to identify the attackers. The police have stated that an investigation is underway.
During the attack, one person from each group sustained injuries and was admitted to Guru Gobind Singh Medical College and Hospital for treatment.
DSP Tarlochan Singh assured that all individuals involved in the attack will be identified and arrested soon. He also confirmed that efforts are being made to recover the weapons used in the firing.
