Muktsar, August 21
The Punjab Khet Mazdoor Union today lodged a protest outside the residence of Agriculture Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian at Khudian village here over the pending pre-poll promises of AAP, including Rs 1,000 per month grant to women, implementation of agricultural policy, checking drug menace, waiving farm labourers’ debt etc.
Lachman Singh Sewewala, general secretary of the Punjab Khet Mazdoor Union, said, “Khudian was present at a meeting held with the CM in the past, thus a protest was lodged outside his residence today. Since he has gone abroad, we have now decided to lodge an indefinite protest outside his residence from September 1 on his return from abroad.”
Meanwhile, members and activists of the Punjab Khet Mazdoor Union staged a dharna in support of their demands on the main road near the residence of Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema in Sangrur.
They were led by state president of the union Zora Singh Nasrali and a state committee member Harbhagwan Moonak.
