Amritsar, June 18
Farmer unions have backed the youths protesting against the Agnipath scheme.
Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee (KMSC) leaders alleged the government was behind the violent incidents that took place during these protests by youths to derail their agitation. They urged the youths to register their protest peacefully.
Sarwan Singh Pandher, general secretary, KMSC, said, “The Army recruitment was the only chance left for youths after Covid to get rid of unemployment. Their demand and aggression are justified. The government is trying to defame their agitation by making it violent. Instead of Army officials, the PM should talk to the youths and revoke the decision.”
