Exactly three years since four farmers were mowed down under an SUV owned by Union Minister of State Ajay Mishra at Lakhimpur Kheri, the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee (KMSC) has announced to block rail traffic on October 3.

The committee has finalised various sites where the rail traffic will be blocked. An elaborate programme in that regard will be announced by panel president Sarwan Singh Pandher in Jalandhar tomorrow. Salwinder S Janian, farm union activist from Shahkot, said, “We shall stop trains at Lohian junction on that day.”

Harpreet Singh, KMSC media coordinator, said they would also raise the issue of red entries in land records and penalty imposed on farmers for burning straw.
