Farmers, who are staging a protest outside Agriculture Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian’s residence at Khudian village in Lambi here for the past 18 days, today blocked the Malout-Delhi national highway near Lambi village here by parking their tractor-trolleys on the road.

The protesters are demanding relief for the families of those farmers who lost their lives at the Delhi farm stir against the now repealed farm laws.

Harbhagwan Singh, a farmer leader, said, “Our protest will continue at both places until a compensation of Rs 3 lakh each announced by the Telangana Government, a compensation of Rs 5 lakh each announced by the Punjab Government and government jobs promised by the state are not given to the remaining families.”
