Jalandhar, February 13
“16 tareekh bandh hai, saada sath deo” a group of farmers raise slogans holding flags as they march in every street of a Jalandhar village.
This is the scenario these days as various farm unions are not leaving any stone unturned to ensure support from people from every walk of life for ‘Bharat Bandh’. For the last 20 days, they have been reaching out to people in the rural areas, handing them over the pamphlets that have been printed by the Samyukt Kisan Morcha and trade unions.
Announcements are being made through speakers in various villages of the Doaba region by the Kirti Kisan Union, the BKU Rajewal, etc. Today, farmers visited Jandu Sangha, Adampur and Sham Churasi areas of the district. In the last two days, Nakodar, Jandiala, Nurmahal and Mehatpur were covered by the unions. Active members are also mobilising people by holding announcements from gurdwaras.
