Fatal blow on head led to farmer Shubhkaran Singh’s death: Autopsy report

A fatal blow on the back of the head led to the death of 22-year-old Shubhkaran Singh at the Khanauri barrier on February 21, states the autopsy report. According to sources, the “pellet” sample collected from the wound has been sent for a ballistic report.

The team of five doctors, including two forensic experts, a surgeon, a medicine specialist and an orthopaedic conducted the autopsy around 11 pm on Wednesday night after the police registered a ‘Zero FIR’ against unidentified persons for killing Shubhkaran.

The police and the authorities at the Rajindra Hospital, Patiala, are tight-lipped on the findings of the post-mortem report.

“We are not in a position of sharing particulars of the autopsy report yet,” said MS Rekhi, Medical Superintendent, Rajindra Hospital, Patiala.

SSP Varun Sharma could not be contacted despite repeated attempts. Mahesh Choudhary, spokesperson, SKM (Non-political), said the autopsy report had not been shared with them so far.

Farm leaders said Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij were responsible for the “atrocities” on the farmers by the Haryana Police.
