Addressing mediapersons,  MLAs Lakhbir Singh Rai (Fatehgarh Sahib), Gurinder Singh Garry Birring (Amloh) and Rupinder Singh Happy (Bassi Pathana) said under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the government was fulfilling its promise to transform the education system by providing basic infrastructure, which had been neglected for over 75 years, and completely revitalising the appearance and facilities of government schools across the state.

He said it had been ensured that every government school in Punjab had a boundary wall, furniture and other required infrastructure. Furthermore, 20,000 new teachers had been recruited and 12,700 contractual teachers regularised, he added, stressing, "For the first time in the state’s history, government school teachers have been sent to prestigious national and international institutions for advanced training."

They also highlighted the establishment of nearly 100 ‘Schools of Eminence’ equipped with ultra-modern facilities, a dedicated school bus service benefiting 10,000 students, with plans for further expansion and appointment of campus managers, security guards and to ensure students' safety and smooth functioning of school operations. "Large-scale grants have been provided to government schools, which have been effectively utilised to raise academic and infrastructural standards. As a result, the Punjab’s Government schools are now being recognized as national-level model institutions," they claimed.
