As the paddy procurement season has begun, Fazilka commission agents have voiced longstanding concerns about operational difficulties. The arhtiya association here submitted a memorandum to the Secretary of the Market Committee recently, demanding urgent repair of sheds to plug leakage that led to crop damage during the rainy season.
Association president Sanjeev Goldy Sachdeva said, “During the recent season also, the agents had to face problems due to shed leakage during rain as the dripping water left the stacked paddy bags wet, resulting in deterioration in its quality.”
They also demanded repair of the grain market’s entry gates, boundary wall, lighting system and roads.
