Border dist feted for fight against malnutrition

Ferozepur, November 30

The border district of Ferozepur has been bestowed with the National SKOCH Award for effective implementation of the “Poshan Abhiyaan”. The award was received by Deputy Commissioner Chander Gaind and District Programme Officer Rattandip Sandhu besides other officials from the Women and Child Development Department during a function held in New Delhi.

The DC said, “The administration organised activities such as village-level rallies, ‘jaago’, ‘nukkad nataks’, magic shows, Lohri celebration events for girl children, cooking shows etc.”

“Programmes are being organised to make women aware about menstrual hygiene, proper sanitation and balanced diet,” said the DC. — OC
