Protesters, including Mahipal, Amarjit Singh Honi and Mukhtair Kaur among others, said, “Due to the lockdown imposed in the wake of the Covid-19 outbreak, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had announced a three-month loan moratorium. However, finance companies are harassing people to repay their loans.”

They alleged that state government was not bothered about implementation of the RBI’s directions.

Agitators said if finance companies do not stop from harassing people, they would hold protests at village levels.
