First group of sangat from Nanded reaches Punjab

The first group of the devotees who had been stuck at Nanded, Maharashtra, reached Punjab early Sunday morning. These pilgrims went to Hazur Sahib in March and were stuck there due to the lockdown.

Eight buses of this convoy reached Punjab today. Seven buses entered Bathinda district from Haryana via the Doomwali border and one bus entered through Abohar in Fazilka district. The pilgrims include residents of Bathinda, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Kapurthala, Gurdaspur, Ropar, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, Jalandhar, Fazilka, Sangrur, Patiala, Moga and Chandigarh.

State officials conducted medical tests of the pilgrims before the buses were dispatched to the respective districts. However, 21 residents of Bathinda district were taken directly to the isolation centre where they would undergo a complete medical examination.
