The accused will undergo rigorous imprisonment for the remainder of their natural life. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 2 lakh each on them under Section 376D of the IPC. They were also sentenced to rigorous imprisonment for 10 years and fined Rs 50,000 each under Section 366 of the IPC.

The case was registered on the basis of a zero FIR on March 16, 2022, against the accused. According to the prosecution, the victim had requested lift from the accused for going to the Golden Temple in Amritsar. The accused took her to an isolated place in their vehicle on the night of March 15 and raped her after serving her cold drink laced with some intoxicating substance. Later, while they were moving towards Amritsar along with the woman, police signalled them to stop the vehicle at Banga. They, however, rammed the vehicle into the barricades. The police apprehended them. A Zero FIR was registered at the Sadar Banga police station. Later on, the probe was transferred to the Anandpur Sahib police station.
