The five high priests today summoned Chief Khalsa Diwan (CKD) head Nirmal Singh and other office-bearers to appear before Akal Takht on September 18 at 10 am with records of the CKD members.

Taking note of complaints received about “patit” (Sikhs with shorn hair and trimmed beard) persons being included in the CKD, Giani Harpreet Singh, acting jathedar of Akal Takht, had put a blanket ban on fresh appointments in the body.

Giani Harpreet Singh had directed the CKD management to submit the prescribed declaration form submitted by members at the time of admission, but in vain.
