Lalpura NCM chief again
New Delhi: Iqbal Singh Lalpura, former police officer from Punjab, on Wednesday took charge as Chairperson of the National Commission for Minorities after being re-nominated by the government. Man jumps into canal, dead
Muktsar: A man allegedly ended his life by jumping into a canal near Baja Mrar village on Wednesday. The deceased was later identified as Ravi Chawla (60), a grocery store owner at Mandi Bariwala here. His body was fished out from near Bhullar village here. A case has been registered. PTI
5 phones found in barracks
Ferozepur: Five mobile phones were found in Central Jail barracks here. Jail Superintendent Parvinder Singh said the phones were found hidden behind LCD panels in barrack number 2 and 3. A case under Section 52-A of the Prisoners Act has been registered and the investigation in on. OC
