Five undertrials in Ldh jail booked for thrashing accused

Ludhiana, July 11

The police have booked five undertrials at the Ludhiana Central Jail for allegedly beating up one Satbir Singh, also lodged here for his alleged involvement in Sidhu Moosewala’s killing.

The accused have been identified as Suraj, Akhilesh Kumar, Gurdev, Punjab and Amanpreet. They have been booked under Sections 323/34 of the IPC and Section 52 of the Prisons Act.

Satbir Singh of Talwandi Rai Dadu village, Ajnala, was thrashed by the inmates at the Ludhiana Central Jail late on Saturday. He suffered injuries on his head and other body parts as one of the inmates reportedly hit him with a brick. Satbir was rushed to the Civil Hospital, where he was undergoing treatment.

Sources said Satbir was attacked by inmates as they were angered over his involvement in the killing of Sidhu Moosewala.
