The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today asked Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh to “go after the big fish, including four Congress legislators, whose names have surfaced in bootlegging on a large scale and not indulge in a cover-up exercise by targeting SHOs instead of distillery owners responsible for Rs 5,600 crore illicit liquor scam”.
Senior SAD leader Prem Singh Chandumajra alleged that the CM, instead of taking action against own party leaders, had given directions to act against bootleggers.
“We demand a High Court-monitored probe by a sitting judge as well as a Vidhan Sabha committee to look into the running of illegal distilleries,” he said.
