Gidderbaha constituency in-charge Hardeep Singh Dimpy Dhillon, who yesterday left the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), on Monday announced to join the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

While addressing his supporters in Gidderbaha, he said, “I will first speak to the CM and then he will be called here. If the CM or his representative agree to our demands of development works of this constituency in front of you, then only I will join the AAP.”

Earlier during his public address, he claimed that all BJP, Congress and AAP leaders were approaching him. “Even Pardhan Sahib (Sukhbir) yesterday called me, but now I cannot go back to the SAD,” he told the gathering.

Meanwhile, SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal appealed Dimpy to rethink his decision of quitting the party.

"Dimpy was undoubtedly our party candidate for Gidderbaha bypoll. I will wait for 10 days and then take a decision," he said, while addressing workers who had gathered at his residence in Badal village here.
