Four held for 'fabricating' injuries

Sangrur, September 6

The police have busted a gang, allegedly involved in fabricating injuries to frame innocents in false cases. Four persons, including an employees of the civil hospital, Sangrur, and a private assistant of a doctor, have been arrested.

SSP Swapan Sharma said, “Jagsir Singh Jagga, son of a Sarpanch in Kanaur Jattan village got a case registered against five persons of his village, including Mandeep, Devinder, Amritpal, Bhupinder and Sukhdeep, under Sections 323, 324, 341, 506, 148 and 149 of the IPC, after which Section 326 of the IPC was added on July 27. During investigation, it came to light that the lab assistant of the civil hospital, Rajinder Singh, guided Jagga to fabricate an injury upon his finger.”

A person, identified as Akashdeep, inflicted a cut upon the finger of Jagga, who misguided the police saying the injury was inflicted during an attack.

A case was registered against Rajinder (26), Akashdeep (23), Jagsir Jagga and Gurtej, said the SSP.
