Three persons were killed and four were injured, as driver of a jeep reportedly lost control over the vehicle, which then rammed into a tree and subsequently hit an electricity pole on the State Highway-20 in Rajasthan on Thursday.
The deceased have been identified as driver Mangat Singh (45) of Chidasar, Samunder Singh (35) of Joglia and Chaina Ram Bhopa (45) of Losal village.
The injured—Mohinder Kumar, Babu Lal, Suresh Kumar and Rameshwer—were rushed to a community health centre in Sujangarh. However, they were later referred to Bikaner.
Preliminary investigation indicated that the victims had boarded the jeep at Chadvas village and were going to pay obeisance at Pabuji Maharaj Mandir near Kilu Mand village, Jodhpur. The incident took place near Bidasar gaushala at 6.30 am. In another incident, a car collided with a truck near Patroda in Sriganganagar, leaving one killed and one hurt.
