Four missing minor boys traced to Sriganganagar in Rajasthan
The Sangrur police have traced four minor boys aged 12 and 13 within 48 hours. These boys had gone missing from their respective homes on January 13.
A police team found these boys roaming at the Sriganganagar railway station. The police today handed over these boys to their parents.
Navreet Singh Virk, Superintendent of Police, Punjab Bureau of Investigation, Sangrur, said the parents of the missing boys had presumed that their wards had gone for begging on Lohri. However, when they did not return till late night, they started searching for them.
On January 14, Tuna Shah, father of two missing boys, reported the matter to the police. Acting on his statement, the police registered a case against unknown person/persons under Section 140 (3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Sangrur City-1 police station, the SP added.
All four minor boys—Sahib Khan (12), Pankaj Kumar (12), Sonu Kumar (12) and Dipesh Kumar (13)—are residents of Focal Point, Sangrur, and study in Class VI and VII. Sonu and Dipesh are real brothers.
Virk said as per preliminary investigation, these boys first reached the Dhuri railway station and from there they boarded a train for Sriganganagar to roam at different places without informing their parents. He said SSP Sartaj Singh Chahal had formed four teams to locate the missing boys. Virk said the boys were handed over to their parents today.
