Abohar, December 31
The Bhakra Beas Management Board may consider installing SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system on all canals emanating from the Bhakra Dam. Gulab Singh Narwal, member, Irrigation, BBMB, said this at a meeting with officials of the Water Resources Department in Hanumangarh.
SCADA is a computer-based control system which gathers and analyses real-time data to track and monitor the supply. The Rajasthan Govt has been urging the BBMB to install SCADA for the past five years to determine loss of water in transit from Harike Barrage to various headworks. — OC
