Sangam, 21, of Aur in Nawanshahr, who died in Canada on December 3, was cremated here today.

She had gone to Canada on August 15, 2023. “With much difficulty, my brother Devi Dayal, who works as a labourer, had sent Sangam to Canada to fulfil her dreams. Her demise has devastated us,” said SS Azad, Sangam’s paternal uncle.

He said after Class XII, she cleared IELTS exam and was pursuing business management course in Canada. “This is the most difficult time for the entire family. At first, we didn’t believe that she is no more,” he said.
