In keeping with a 25-year tradition, the Gita Mandir in Street-8, here, organised a function ahead of Lohri to distribute gifts and relief material to those in need. The offerings included warm clothes, blankets, utensils, fruits and food items.

The event, coordinated by project in-charge Sunil Chawla and Vivek Munjal, welcomed dozens of leprosy patients from the Navjivan Leprosy Ashram in Malout, who travelled with their families to Abohar. They were received a warm welcome at the temple.

The group performed a kirtan before the main event. The patients were presented food and Lohri gifts by the head of the temple management committee, Daron Ahuja, along with other officials.

Gita Mandir, an ancient place of worship, has consistently supported the Leprosy Ashram’s members, offering assistance and relief over the years. The temple management also expressed their gratitude to the local community for their financial contributions, which make such charitable efforts possible.
