In an exciting development for the youth of Moga district, global tech giants including IBM, Microsoft, and NASSCOM have teamed up to offer advanced training programmes. The District Employment and Enterprise Bureau (DBEE) is facilitating the enrolment process for aspiring students, with courses set to begin online in January 2025.
This initiative aims to equip students with cutting-edge skills in technology, enhancing their career prospects and preparing them for success in the global job market. The collaboration between these industry leaders will provide specialised courses in areas such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, cloud computing, and data analytics, among others, according to Vishesh Sarangal, Deputy Commissioner of Moga.
The DBEE is encouraging interested candidates to register for the training programmes, which will be available remotely, making them accessible to students across the district. This initiative is expected to empower the youth of Moga with the skills needed to thrive in today’s digital economy.
Deputy Commissioner Sarangal shared the news while presiding over a district-level executive committee meeting on skill development at his office. Additional Deputy Commissioner Jagwinderjeet Singh Grewal and District Employment Officer Dimple Thapar were also present.
“This is the first time that students from Moga will have the opportunity to receive direct training from globally acclaimed companies,” said Deputy Commissioner Sarangal. He added that the Punjab Government’s Employment Generation, Skill Development, and Training Department is launching new courses, in collaboration with IBM, Microsoft, and NASSCOM, to align with current and future industry demands.
Students from Moga district who have completed Class 10, 12, ITI, or are graduates are eligible to enrol in these courses. The courses cover a range of topics including technology, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, e-commerce, automation, robotics, hardware, and capacity building. Course durations vary from 20 to 320 hours.
“We are thrilled to offer this world-class training to students in Moga,” said Dimple Thapar. “This partnership with leading tech companies will open doors to numerous job opportunities in the tech industry, both locally and internationally.”
The courses will be delivered by industry experts, combining theoretical knowledge with practical skills. Students who successfully complete the training will receive certificates from IBM, Microsoft, and NASSCOM, which will greatly enhance their CVs.
