Amritsar, July 17
The Amritsar Customs Department has seized 10.22 kg gold, worth around Rs 5 crore, from six passengers who landed at Sri Guru Ram Dass Ji International Airport here from Dubai.
Customs Commissioner Dipak Kumar Gupta said five passengers were intercepted when they arrived here on July 16, while one person arrived here in flight no G 9275 of Air Arabia under the Vande Bharat Scheme on July 17.
“They had concealed gold in home appliances, including iron, juicer-mixer grinder and drill machine, by replacing their inner parts,” he said.
