Despite making an announcement a month back, the government has failed to extend any financial help to the family of Punjabi writer Dalip Kaur Tiwana, who passed away last month.

Now, the family of the writer, which paid Rs 14 lakh from its own savings for her treatment, has decided not to accept any help from the government. Last month, on January 16, the Punjab Government had announced to bear the entire cost of treatment of literary doyen Dr Dalip Kaur Tiwana, who brought laurels to the state at national and international levels through her works.
